The Honda Sport Award has been presented annually by the CWSA for the past 47 years to the top women athletes in 12 NCAA- sanctioned sports and signifies “the best of the best in collegiate athletics”.  The winner of the sport award becomes a finalist for the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year and the prestigious 2023 Honda Cup which will be presented during the live telecast of the Collegiate Women Sports Awards Presented by Honda on CBS Sports Network on June 26, at 8:30 ET/5:30 PT, in Los Angeles.

The track & field finalists were determined by a panel of experts from the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Honda Sport award winner for track & field will be announced later this week after voting by administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools. Each NCAA member institution has a vote.

Alfred, a graduate student from Castries, St. Lucia, helped her team to the 2023 NCAA National Outdoor Track & Field Championship team title and is a member of The Bowerman watch list. The sprinter captured top honors in the 100m and 200m and holds the collegiate record in the 100m. She remains undefeated in the 100m on the season.

Moore appeared on all eight The Bowerman watch lists this season and is a seven-time NCAA Champion after winning the Triple Jump and Long Jump crowns at the 2023 NCAA National Championship. The senior from Grand Prairie, Texas, holds the collegiate record in the Triple Jump which she set at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Nugent is a junior hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, and is a 2023 The Bowerman watch list honoree. The hurdler captured the 2023 NCAA Championship title in the 100m hurdles setting a new all-conditions collegiate record in the event. The record also ranks 10th in the world. She swept the hurdles this year after capturing the 60m crown at the NCAA Indoor Championship.

Wilson, a junior from Henrico, Va., is also on the The Bowerman watch list and is an eight-time First Team All-American in both Indoor and Outdoor as well as a two-time gold medalist in NCAA competition in Indoor and Outdoor in the 400m.
