A familiar face in the OU Athletics Department, Lindy Roberts joined the administrative team in January 2010 when she was promoted to assistant athletics director. Roberts originally joined the Sooner staff in June 2000 as a graduate assistant in women's basketball.

Roberts moved into the role of administrative assistant to OU's Senior Woman Administrator in July 2001 before joining the event management staff in April 2005 as director of event management. She took on sport administrator duties in November 2008 when she began to oversee men's and women's gymnastics. Following her promotion to assistant AD in January, she added women's basketball to her sport administrator duties.

Prior to her joining the Sooner staff, Roberts served as an undergraduate student assistant for softball for three years and as a graduate assistant coach for women's basketball for one year at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Designated as the department's primary contact for internal and external usage and rental of athletics facilities, Roberts supervises all aspects of event management for the department's 21 varsity sports. In her role as director of event management, she has been a key member of the internal group that has successfully hosted more than 100 NCAA and Big 12 championship events in addition to the numerous regular season home events on the Norman campus. Additionally, she serves as the department's contact with external hosting agencies including the Oklahoma City All Sports Association and the Amateur Softball Association.

She has served as tournament director of the hugely successful Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City for six years and has taken a lead role in making the department one of the nation's leaders in facility security and customer satisfaction.

In her role as a sport administrator, she oversees and carries out all administrative duties that relate to the sport including budget management; oversight of construction projects, including the recently completed renovation of the Viersen Gymnastics Center; supervision of coaching staffs; serving on national and regional task forces, and interacting with external groups as they relate to her sports.

In 2009, Roberts received the Judith M. Sweet Commitment Award from the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletics Administrators. The award honors athletics administrators who are committed to providing high level leadership and guidance within intercollegiate athletics and is presented to staff who are just beginning their administrative career.

Roberts' professional memberships include NACWAA and the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau Sports Committee. She has participated in ongoing education efforts through her attendance of the Collegiate Athletic Operation Services Conference, the Big 12 Event Management Conference and the NACDA/Center for Spectator Sports Safety Security Management Forum.
