Bio
The 1985 winner of what was then the Broderick Cup is UCLA’s Jackie Joyner-Kersee. A two-sport standout in track & field and basketball, Jackie won two NCAA heptathlon titles in 1982 and 1983 as a Bruin before going on to claim six Olympic medals, three Gold, one Silver and two Bronze, across four Games from 1984 to 1996. She set multiple world and American records in the heptathlon, long jump and 50-meter hurdles, and was later named “The Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century” by Sports Illustrated. Jackie now serves as founder and CEO of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation, benefiting youth in her hometown of East St. Louis.
