Bio
The 1986 winner of what was then the Honda-Broderick Cup is Texas basketball star Kamie Ethridge. She led the Lady Longhorns to the 1986 NCAA national championship and the program’s first-ever perfect season at 34-0. The first Longhorn to have her #33 jersey retired, Kamie also captured several Gold Medals, including the 1985 World University Games, the 1986 and 1987 Pan Am Games, and Olympic Gold in Seoul in 1988. Inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002, Kamie is now head coach at Washington State, where she’s guided the Cougars to a record three straight NCAA Tournament appearances.
