In 1994, Mia Hamm of the University of North Carolina became the first soccer player ever to win what was then known as the Honda-Broderick Cup. During her legendary college career, she helped lead the Tar Heels to four straight national championships. Beyond college, Mia became a global icon, winning two Olympic gold medals, two FIFA Women’s World Cups, and earning FIFA World Player of the Year honors twice.
