The 1984 co-winner of what was then the Broderick Cup is USC legend and Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller, who shared the honor with Florida swimmer Tracy Caulkins. A four-time Kodak All-American, Cheryl led the Women of Troy to back-to-back NCAA championships in 1983 and 1984, then won Olympic Gold at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. Cheryl built an extensive broadcasting career covering the NBA and college basketball, returned to her alma mater USC as head coach for two seasons, and later became the inaugural head coach and general manager of the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury.
