Ogonna Nnamani Silva, MD, from Normal, Illinois, is a two-time Olympian for Team USA in indoor volleyball (2004, 2008), earning a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Games. She was named Honda Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year in 2005, is a two-time national champion, four-time All-American, Academic All-American of the Year, and was inducted into the Stanford Hall of Fame. Ogonna graduated from UCSF School of Medicine in 2020, earning membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society for her academic achievements. She is currently a resident at Harvard Medical School in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Ogonna is married to Michael Silva, a Stanford football alumnus. They have two children, Michael “Mikey” and Anya, and reside in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
