THE CWSA's 2014 Honda Sports Award winner for Swimming & Diving, Felicia Lee of Stanford University, was formally presented with the honor live at the Stanford Annual Awards Banquet, as announced by THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards presented by Honda. Presenting the honor to Felicia was Erik Wedin of the American Honda Motor, Co.
Lee will be present in Los Angeles on June 30th for the broadcast of THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards presented by Honda where she will be recognized as the top swimmer in the nation. At the televised event she is in the running to be “the best of the best in collegiate athletics” as each of the 12 sport winners vie for the coveted Honda Cup. The Honda sport award signifies the best in any sport and the on-campus presentation gives the CWSA the opportunity to recognize Lee in front of her own fans and teammates.
The live telecast of the 2014 Collegiate Women Sports Awards show presented by Honda will be on Monday, June 30th, at the USC Galen Center Founders Room in Los Angeles, Calif.
Lee earned seven All-America honors at the 2014 NCAA championship while capturing five NCAA titles. She finished first in the 100 fly and with relay teams in the 200 and 400 free and the 200 and 400 medley. She was a two-time Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month for the months of November and January and is a human biology major.
Overall she holds four school records, three Avery Aquatic Center records, two Pac-12 titles and finished her career with 19 All-America accolades. She is a member of the 2013-14 USA Swimming National Team and has been a national team member since 2009.
THE Collegiate Women Sports Awards has honored the nation’s top NCAA women athletes for 37 years, recognizing superior athletic skills, leadership, academic excellence and eagerness to participate in community service. Since commencing its sponsorship in 1986, Honda has provided more than $2.8 million in institutional grants to the universities of the award winners and nominees to support women’s athletics programs at the institutions.
